Dr. Charisse Hills Barta is a board-certified neurologist with specialized training in clinical neurophysiology. With over two decades of experience in private practice, she is committed to providing expert and compassionate care for patients with a wide range of neurological conditions.
A native Texan, Dr. Barta earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Summa Cum Laude, and Doctor of Medicine with Distinction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s accelerated six-year medical program. She was honored for academic excellence through memberships in Phi Kappa Phi, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Mortar Board honor societies. She also achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, earning induction into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Barta completed her internship at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, followed by a neurology residency at Washington University – Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She further refined her expertise through a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology with a focus on Neuromuscular Disease at Saint Louis University.
Dr. Barta is an active leader in the medical community and currently serves as Board Chair of Genesis Physician Group. She previously served as a board member of the Texas Health Plano Medical Board and held the distinguished role of Medical Board President, where she contributed to physician collaboration and hospital governance.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Barta is dedicated to medical education, helping train internal medicine residents at Texas Health Plano. She values mentorship and is passionate about fostering excellence in the next generation of physicians.
